I offer a no-nonsense, one to one personal service to address the engine management and carbon build-up related problems that we all eventually face with modern engines. Fortunately, most of these problems only need dealing with once in a vehicle’s lifetime.

Experience gives me the freedom and know-how to take an holistic view of each situation then provide you with the right solution at the right price. I discuss expectations and any additional work that may be needed as I go along.

Main dealers often don't have the time & inclination to correctly diagnose modern engine problems. There's a lot to keep up with and a high work volume so they tend to quote well over the top for this kind of work, when in fact with experience, good insight, and honest, customer centred work ethics, Auto Regen can have your vehicle back on top form for much less. In the case of DPF related problems this is particularly true as where dealers will throw you a blanket quote for thousands to install a new DPF, in most cases this is not necessary and with my specialist experience and industry leading solutions and dealer-level diagnostic equipment I can have you back up and running in a few hours for a tenth of the cost with my standard all-in fee of £190 with no VAT. This includes essential full diagnostics to identify the root cause of the blockage to avoid a repeat, and a reset to inform your engines computer that the DPF is now clean.

Good work ethics are hard to find these days! At Auto Regen I'm into cars and people. Not just sales. I don't make a meal out of a job, I take care of things in as timely a manner as possible and keep you well informed of any findings along the way. I'll help you make well-informed decisions regarding any further issues I spot that might cause you grief in the near future. About Me

Old-school? I'm John and over the last 35 years I'm lucky to have worked worldwide as an engine specialist in many different capacities. I've worked in the motor industry and I've overhauled and maintained industrial and marine diesel engines up to 80 litres/2000hp and gas turbines up to 20,000hp operating in the most demanding environments. In that time I've enjoyed gaining a lot of hands-on experience and formal qualifications, but my greatest satisfaction has come from being regarded as an in-situ specialist engaged to come up with creative solutions to overhaul large engines in place where engine removal was not an option. This is a bold approach to engine overhaul where attention to detail is everything. Today I still provide specialist remote support for large engines operating worldwide and as a reliability and emissions specialist I've saved companies millions in emissions fines and lost production due to breakdowns. On the vehicle diesel engine front I've been active since well before the Euro 1 engines came along in 1992 and dealt with all the growing aches and pains as the emissions limits got tighter and tighter until today where we're all bogged down with Euro 6d. It's a challenge, but a challenge I enjoy and I believe for the private owner it shouldn't be as daunting as it sometimes feels when that engine light comes on.

On returning home to the UK in 2019 I was shocked by the plight of hard-working motorists trying to keep modern engines running properly. From the minefield of cheap inferior parts to the astronomical cost of original parts and labour there seemed to be no ideal middle ground, and this is where the concept of Auto Regen was born. A service operated in and around the community, for the community, based on trust and experience. Old school so they say.
